On Friday we went in for the version. They hooked me up to the monitors to monitor Emily's heart rate and to see if they were any contractions. After being on that for a little, they did an ultrasound to check the fluid levels and also position. The ultrasound technician was measuring the fluids and she really couldn't find any big pockets. After measuring the smaller ones she told me that there was a total of 4cm of fluids (normally there should be between 8cm and 24cm). When my doctor arrived she did an ultrasound herself and came up with the same results. She told me that they couldn't do the version and she didn't feel comfortable with letting me go any longer with this low of fluid... so she called the O.R. and got everything set up for a c-section.

They told Dave to stand up if he would like to see, which he did. They started to pull Emily out, butt first. Dave told me her butt was out and I said, "any boy parts?" Dave said, "No, it's a definitely a girl!" Then they pull out her legs, arms and shoulders, then came th

Dave went over to her while they cleaned her up, showed her to me, and then took her to the nursery. Meanwhile, I was laying on the table waiting for the surgery to be over. That was the longest hour of my life! I couldn't wait to hold my baby and to be with Dave again. I was all alone in the operating room. Finally it was over and they took me to recovering where I got to hold my daughter.
We are so happy that Emily is here and is healthy. She is a beautiful baby and we can't wait to see how she grows and changes.
Emily was born 11/6/09 at 5:44pm and weighed 6lbs 3oz. She was 20 and 3/4" lo
